Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are purified proteins of the Clostridium botulinum toxin type A. They bind to receptors on the muscles that are treated and render the muscle unreceptive to the nerve signals that would otherwise cause the muscle to contract. They are very effective and very specific and work where they are injected. Because of this, they allow us to relax specific, targeted muscles in the face, which cause dynamic (muscle movement associated) facial wrinkling.
