How does laser treatment for Rosacea work?

Laser treatment in Menlo Park for rosacea, or more specifically, laser resurfacing, is an innovative technology which uses lasers to create intentional wounds on the skin of the face. This may sound counter intuitive, but we swear by it!

When you go to the gym to workout, what you’re actually doing is creating little tears in your muscles. As the muscle heals, it promotes new growth, making it stronger and healthier! This is exactly the process behind laser resurfacing.

A laser uses heat to create tiny micro wounds on the skin of the face which signals to the skin cells that it’s time to start regenerating collagen and elastin, all the stuff that makes our skin smooth, firm, and young-looking!

What is the V-beam laser?

The V-beam Prima laser is an advanced pulsed-dye laser (PDL) that delivers pulsed laser energy in different colors. The PDL targets and treats broken capillaries, redness, and areas of uneven pigmentation like birthmarks, scars, or sun damage. This makes it the perfect laser treatment for rosacea.

Over a series of treatments, the V-beam laser hones in on treatment areas, breaking down unwanted pigmentation while leaving adjacent tissue unaffected. This makes the treatment safe, comfortable, and effective with little to no downtime!

During your consultation, you and your treatment provider will discuss how many treatment sessions you need to achieve your desired results. Typically we recommend 3 to 5 sessions spaced out over a month to 6 weeks. You may begin to see results after the first treatments, with significant changes occuring over the course of the sessions. The effects of V-beam laser treatment for rosacea are non-reversible, but some conditions may reoccur.
