Our board-certified plastic surgeons have trained at some of the nation’s elite medical schools, such as Stanford University Medical Center, and have more than 70 years of combined experience. They are fellowship-trained and are leaders in the field of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.
Caring & Dedicated Staff
Most of our staff members have been with us for over a decade. From the front office to the operating room, our team will support you with experience, knowledge, and authentic kindness. They go above and beyond an everyday job description to show each patient they are valued on the inside and out.
Character & Compassion
Our plastic surgeons all defy the typical stereotype of the reserved, clinical, and hurried doctor. They each chose to specialize in plastic surgery because they share an appreciation of the human connections of their profession as much as the medical side. Women and men are often pleasantly surprised by the genuine, down-to-earth personalities of the surgeons that extend throughout the practice. As longtime residents of the community, they also admire and value the innovative atmosphere of Silicon Valley and enjoy the warmth of its people.
What Is the Difference Between a Cosmetic Surgeon and Plastic Surgeon?
There is an important distinction between a cosmetic surgeon and a plastic surgeon. Any doctor can call him or herself a cosmetic surgeon, including a primary care doctor, gynecologist, or dermatologist. A plastic surgeon is a doctor who has completed a residency training program specifically in plastic surgery.
While you may encounter surgeons who are certified by a variety of important-sounding boards, it matters which one did the certifying. The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is an organization created to protect patients. The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) is the only board recognized by the ABMS to certify plastic surgeons.
By choosing a surgeon who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), you can be confident that they are specifically qualified to perform plastic surgery of the entire body, including the face. All ASPS members must be certified by the ABPS or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and meet the following rigorous requirements:
- Completed a medical degree from an accredited 4-year medical school
- Accomplished surgical training and experience of at least 5 years, including at least 2 years dedicated specifically to plastic surgery
- Passed rigorous written and oral examinations in plastic surgery
They must also agree to:
- Operate only in accredited medical facilities
- Enrich their knowledge of plastic surgery through continued education
- Follow a strict code of professional ethics
Your appearance and your health are priceless. Make them a priority by choosing only a board-certified plastic surgeon.
