How many threads you need depends on the type (barbed, smooth, or twist) and your treatment goals. If you’re getting smooth threads, we use many of them because they are very fine. We use the smooth and twist threads monthly for 3 treatments initially, and then we follow up with a maintenance treatment every 6 to 12 months. Barbed threads may require fewer threads and last longer.
