When it comes to keeping your skin smooth and maintaining its healthy glow, the single most important factor is collagen. At Entre Nous Aesthetics we use a variety of collagen induction therapy methods to help our patients look and feel their best.

As we age our skin slows down, and eventually stops, its natural collagen production. That’s what causes wrinkles and sagging. By utilizing aesthetic treatments to kick start your body’s natural processes, we can slow down and even reverse signs of aging!

What is Collagen Induction Therapy in Menlo Park?

Collagen induction therapy is a catch all term for any aesthetic procedure designed to boost your body’s collagen output. At Entre Nous we use different types of microneedling procedures to help our patients enjoy the firmer, more youthful-looking skin that comes with a boost in collagen production.

What is collagen?

Collagen is a protein in our body that provides structure for our skin, muscles, and bones. It actually accounts for about 30% of the protein in your body! Specifically for your skin it helps new cells grow to replace old skin cells and provides strength and elasticity.

What happens to collagen as we age?

As we grow older our body produces less collagen and the collagen you already have will break down at a faster rate. Less collagen leads to wrinkles, sagging, and loss of volume in the skin—especially in the face!

How does collagen induction therapy help?

Simply put: collagen induction therapy causes your body to produce more collagen, which can reverse the signs of aging associated with collagen loss. A minimally invasive procedure, CIT uses controlled injury to the skin to stimulate your body’s natural healing process.

Benefits of collagen induction therapy

  • Improved complexion
  • Reduced redness and scarring
  • Fixing wrinkles
  • Short and long term results
  • Minimal downtime
  • Customizable
  • Complements other treatments

How does collagen induction therapy work?

One collagen induction therapy method is called microneedling. It uses thin needles to make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. We can adjust the depth of the needles based on your particular skin concerns. Your body reacts and produces more collagen in order to heal your skin, which results in tighter, firmer skin overall.

Before beginning, your trained aesthetician will cleanse your face and apply a topical numbing cream. Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure and doesn’t require downtime after. You’re able to return home right after your treatment!

The face and neck are the places most patients opt to get microneedling, although it can be used on other parts of the body as well. Collagen induction can help stretch marks on your thighs and buttocks vanish and is the secret to younger looking hands.

Microneedling results are not instant but they do continue to improve over time. Your body’s natural healing process continues to reshape your skin for 6 to 12 months after just 1 treatment!

Layering topical products on your skin after your microneedling treatment can enhance your results even more.

How long do results last?

Your results are going to vary depending on which type of collagen induction therapy you receive. Patients often experience an immediate glow after their treatments, particularly those who use the Aquagold microchannel facial. Microneedling results continue to improve over time and get better over the weeks and months following your treatment!

Unlike fillers, collagen induction therapy isn’t putting anything into your skin. It’s stimulating your body’s natural processes so that you’ll produce more of your own natural collagen. This process takes time, which is why results are not immediate.

What are my options for collagen induction therapy in Menlo Park?

At Entre Nous we offer three different skin tightening procedures in order to provide our patients with the best possible options for collagen induction. We offer SkinPen, RF Microneedling, and Aquagold facials, as well as Ellacor micro-coring.

SkinPen

Micropenning with our SkinPen device gently restores firmness, refreshes your skin tone, and improves the overall texture. As the first FDA-approved microneedling device, SkinPen is the gold standard for collagen induction and the treatment only takes about 30 minutes!

RF Microneedling

The Profound RF Microneedling system helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, and smaller areas of loose skin. When microneedling is combined with radiofrequency energy, the heat stimulates collagen and elastin production which tightens and smooths your skin.

Traditional radiofrequency treatments use a hand piece that sits on top of your skin, but when it’s combined with microneedling we’re able to deliver the RF energy to the deeper layers of your skin.

Aquagold Microchannel Facial

Who doesn’t love a good cocktail? (Or mocktail, if that’s your thing!) The Aquagold microchannel facial combines similar benefits to microneedling with active ingredients customized for your unique skin concerns. These ingredients can include platelet rich plasma (PRP), HA filler, “microtox” (Botox, Dysport or Jeuveau), skin bleaching agents, and/or antioxidants.

The Aquagold facial uses hair thin gold plated needles and gently stamps active ingredients into your skin. As a microinjection device, it can’t achieve the same depth as microneedling. However, that’s why we love Aquagold as a pre-event treatment! The results appear much sooner than with traditional microneedling.

Ellacor

Entre Nous is one of the first medspas in California to offer micro-coring in our Menlo Park office! Micro-coring is slightly more invasive than microneedling, but provides the same type of collagen induction through controlled injury to the skin.

During the treatment, the device uses hollow needles to remove micro cores of the dermis layer of skin. The percentage of skin that is removed and the treatment depth can be customized based on your desired results. Then the skin quickly heals and realigns to close the cores, creating tighter, younger looking skin. The whole treatment only takes about 30 minutes!
